Private Lessons

A private lesson is a one hour session in which we can work on any of your dog’s behavioral struggles. During the lesson I will teach you how to modify your dog’s behavior to have the success you both need. Private lessons will give you the education you need and then you will implement the work between lessons. Whether you need one lesson, or more, will be up to you and your desired behavioral goals for your dog.

Daycare & Train

If you don’t have the time to commit to modifying your dog’s behavior I fully understand. Daycare & Train is a great option in these situations. During your dog’s day I will care for your dog and incorporate training to work on the struggles you and your dog are having.

Board & Train

If you don’t have the time to commit to modifying your dog’s behavior I fully understand and I can do that work for you. Send your dog for focused training time. In this option we will determine the length of Board & Train that works for you to accomplish the behavior modification that you are looking for with your dog. Included in your Board & Train visit will be lessons for you to learn how to maintain these new behaviors. The length of Board & Train will determine how many follow up lessons you receive. I can set the patterns, and modify your dog’s behavior, but maintenance of those behaviors is required once they return home with you.

About Carrie

Carrie has had a deep connection with animals from an early age. Growing up in a tract house in Southern California, her parents still managed to have a variety of animals—dogs, rabbits, chickens, birds, turtles, hamsters, ducks, and geese—that she and her siblings helped care for. It was through these experiences that Carrie developed her empathy for other creatures. At just 10 years old, her grandmother adopted a 4-month-old wild mustang, which became Carrie’s first animal to train. Her grandmother told her to make friends with the horse, so with a handful of hay, Carrie coaxed the foal with a gentle, “Here, horsey, horsey.” Carrie spent her summers at the ranch in Utah, tending to her mustang and a variety of other animals.

Carrie holds an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology and spent 10 years working in veterinary hospitals. She also has a degree in Animal Training, Zoo Keeping, and Wildlife Education. Throughout her career, she has worked with both domestic and exotic species, including several years at a dog training facility. She worked for 10 years as a wildlife educator. In that time she was the director of a daycamp at a zoo and also founded a non-profit providing hands-on animal education programs for children. Additionally, Carrie worked at the Los Angeles Zoo, where she had the privilege of assisting with the California Condors. Her work included incubating eggs, feeding the breeding birds, and caring for injured condors brought in from the wild before they were released after treatment.

With her knowledge, she will do everything she can to assist you in modifying your dog’s behavior so they can be the best version of themselves. It’s important for a dog to behaviorally fit into an owner’s life for your dog to be the best friend they are meant to be for you.
